1. Rinse Aid Is Empty or Dispenser Is Clogged
Rinse aid breaks the surface tension of water so it sheets off dishes instead of forming droplets that linger. Without it, even a perfectly functioning dishwasher will leave dishes wet.

- Access the high-limit thermostat — it is typically a small disc-shaped component clipped to the outer bottom of the tub or mounted near the heating element.
- Disconnect its two wires and test continuity with a multimeter. At room temperature it should show continuity (close to 0 Ω). No continuity means it has failed open and must be replaced.
- Press the reset button on the thermostat (if present); if continuity returns, reinstall and test with a heated-dry cycle.

5. Vent and Vent Fan Motor Are Not Opening
Many dishwashers release steam through a vent in the door; a stuck vent flap or failed vent fan motor traps humid air inside and prevents drying.
- With the dishwasher off and cool, locate the vent — usually a rectangular slot near the top of the inner door panel.
- Open and close the vent flap by hand; it should move freely with light resistance. If it is stuck open or closed, clean away any detergent deposits with a damp cloth.
