Editorial and Sourcing Policy

Appliance Not Working aims to publish troubleshooting information that is understandable, transparent, and safe to use.

Who writes the guides

The site is founded and edited by Jabeer, a homeowner who documents personal appliance troubleshooting and organizes information from manufacturer documentation and established repair references. Jabeer is not a licensed appliance technician, and the site does not represent its articles as professional service reports.

Sources and research

Whenever practical, the research process starts with the manufacturer’s owner manual, service information, technical sheet, parts diagram, or official error-code documentation. Additional repair references and recurring reports from established repair communities may be used to identify common failure patterns.

Brand and model details are checked before a guide describes a model-specific code, part, reset sequence, or test. If model information is unavailable, the guide should say that procedures vary and direct readers to the documentation for their exact appliance.

Personal experience

Articles may include lessons from repairs or diagnostic checks Jabeer has performed on appliances in his own home. A guide will not claim first-hand testing, ownership, or a successful repair when that did not occur.

AI assistance and illustrations

AI tools may assist with organizing drafts or producing explanatory illustrations. Technical claims should still be checked against source material before publication. AI-generated illustrations are identified as illustrations and should not be interpreted as photographs of a specific model, repair, or service visit.

Safety standards

Guides distinguish basic checks from work that should be handled by a qualified technician. Extra caution applies to microwave high-voltage components, gas connections, refrigeration sealed systems, live electrical testing, and heavy appliances.

No guide replaces the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable codes, or professional judgment.

Affiliate independence

Some links may generate a commission. Payment does not determine the order of diagnostic steps or whether a repair is described as safe. Paid relationships are disclosed near relevant links and on the Affiliate Disclosure page.

Corrections and updates

Articles may be revised when better source material becomes available, a manufacturer changes documentation, or a reader identifies a reproducible error. To suggest a correction, email jabeer.4148@gmail.com with the article URL, appliance model, and supporting information.
